Conferral of Pallium to Cardinal Tobin (Archbishop of Newark)

September 13, 2017On Thursday, September 14 beginning at 2 p.m., the people of the Archdiocese will celebrate at a special Mass in the Cathedral Basilica of the Sacred Heart in Newark the moment when Cardinal Joseph Tobin, our Archbishop accepts from the Holy Father’s representative the pallium, a symbol of an Archbishop’s close relationship to the Holy See.
We welcome members of the community to join the priests, religious and other laypeople of this Archdiocese at this special moment in the life of this local Church of Newark.
There still is seating available, and a reception is scheduled in the Chancery offices across the street from the Cathedral Basilica after the Mass.
