Before joining the Community of St. John, Br. Daniel Kolbe was living and working in Dallas, TX as an electrical engineer but spending all his free time volunteering at his Life Teen parish. In 2000 he quit his job to serve on a NET team wanting to live out fully the Great Jubilee year. After this year he traveled the USA spending time with various religious communities. In 2002 he entered the Community of St. John in Princeville. A couple years after joining he was sent to St. Jodard, France and then to Rimont, France to continue his religious formation. Before finishing his studies in Philosphy and Theology he spent two years with his brothers in the Monterrey, Mexico priory. After returning to Rimont, France and finishing his studies, he remained at the communitie's mother house to oversee a three year renovation project of it's guest house. In 2014 he was assigned to Our Lady of Mount Carmel in Orange, New Jersey where he joyfully serves as DRE and oversees the the parish building and grounds maintanance.
